Cruise on the southern part of the lake

Programme: Cruise on the southern part of the lake - Arona - Rocca Borromea.
9.00: departure from Stresa (or from the town where the group is staying, on request) for Arona, sailing along the Piedmont shore of Lake Maggiore past splendid 19th century villas and the little towns of Belgirate, Lesa and Meina. On request an expert guide can accompany you for the duration of the tour to tell you about the history, nature and traditions of the lake.
10.30: disembark at Arona to visit the town’s extensive open-air market and the picturesque historic centre. Free time for lunch.
14.00: the boat leaves for Angera and a visit to the Rocca Borromeo, the medieval castle high above the lake. There is a walk of about 1 kilometre to reach the castle, or taxis can be booked if you prefer. Visit to the Castle and its exhibition of 19th century dolls in the Doll Museum.
16.00: back to the boat for the return trip along the Lombard shore with views of the little towns of Ranco and Ispra, and the picturesque monastery of Santa Caterina.
17.15: arrive in Stresa.

Admittance to the Rocca Borromeo: € 6.00 per person, payable at the castle
